Own the accuracy of what our clients see and the judgment behind it. The standard you hold is the reason our reporting can be trusted.
FCF Intelligence is the AI-native accounting, reporting, and tax business inside FCF Consulting Partners. We work with owner-led companies, most between $2M and $25M in revenue, across insurance agencies and brokerages, restaurant and hospitality groups, and home services.
We are building the firm we think this work is heading toward. Boutique by choice, with the technical standard a Big Four alum would recognize and the pace of a company still deciding how far it can go. Small enough that what you do is visible. Serious enough that it has to be right.
Technology carries more of the load here than it does at a traditional practice. That is exactly why the judgment of the people doing the work matters more, not less. We are AI-powered and human-led, and nothing reaches a client without a person deciding it is right.
What our clients are buying is confidence in their own numbers. This role is where that gets decided.
You would own monthly close and review across a portfolio of clients, lead the accountants doing the work, and hold the line on when the numbers are good enough to report on. It is a senior seat with real latitude and a direct hand in how the work evolves.
Review and sign off on monthly close across your portfolio. Design charts of accounts that reflect how each business actually operates. Own reconciliations, balance sheet discipline, and the accrual judgment calls that decide whether a number means anything.
Stand behind the numbers before they reach a client report, and say what needs to change when they are not ready. Handle the questions that depend on knowing the business rather than applying a rule: revenue recognition, commission and chargeback treatment, working capital, owner compensation. Join client conversations when the answer needs a person who can explain it.
Lead and develop the accountants supporting your clients. Define what a finished close looks like here, then hold it. Hire and train as the portfolio grows.
You will see the same problems recur across clients. We expect you to say where the standard or the approach should change, and to have a hand in changing it. That is part of the job here, not a suggestion box.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Six or more years of accounting experience, including real ownership of monthly close rather than only reviewing someone else's. Strong US GAAP and accrual judgment.
Experience running several clients or entities at once and deciding what deserves attention first. Fluent in cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online or Xero.
The ability to explain a financial issue to an owner who is smart but does not speak accounting, in plain language, without talking down to them. A surprising amount of this job is that.
CPA. Experience in outsourced accounting, client accounting services, or a fractional finance team. Exposure to one of our verticals, particularly insurance agency accounting, multi-unit hospitality, or field services. Any track record of improving how accounting work gets done rather than only working inside it.
Self-directed. You can be handed an unclear situation and come back with a recommendation rather than a list of questions. Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team.
Forward-leaning about technology. You should want the mechanical part of this work to shrink and be willing to help make that happen. Accurate is not enough for you either.
